Maria Anita Robles Salazar
Passed away on February 24, 2007at the age of 96.
She was the youngest of Miguel & Margarita's eight
children and the last of them to pass on.

Mr. Vasquez was my
oldest sister Sally's father.  I
only met him once when I was
very young, but I recall him to
have been a kind, tolerant soul
to my young, rambunctious self.

The obituary omitted that he
was also the father of our twin
sisters, Gloria & Elizabeth
Vasquez.  They are the
mothers of his grandchildren
Stephanie & Stacy Nakamura
(Gloria's) and Francisco,
Andrea, & Mario Gabusi
(Elizabeth's).

Additionally, it might have also
been noted that he was
preceded in death by his only
son, an infant named David
Joseph in 1943.

Ramon was an exceptional soul of a man who loved his profession and the people he served.  I was not able to attend his funeral
which was replete with mariachis and a celebration of a life well lived.  However, I did hear stories from those who were able to attend.
Like, Ramon took his lunch to work everyday and that if he saw someone he thought was hungry he didn't hesitate to share it with
them, that he went out of his way from his own pocket to make sure that a needy patient got the medicine they needed, and that he
would write notes (dichos) of encouragement to those he helped on their prescriptions.

A scholarship has been started in his name:
Ramon R. Robles Community Pharmacist Memorial Scholarship to encourage
students to become pharmacists to continue the work in the city of Tucson that he loved and called home for over 50 years. If you
would like to donate send your donation to: The University of Arizona Foundation, UA College of Pharmacy, c/o Development Office,
P.O. Box 210202, Tucson, AZ 85721-0202 & note ROBLES SCHOLARSHIP FUND on your check.

One of Ramon's dichos/sayings was, "Disfruten cada instante de su vida".  Think I will honor his life by following his advise to,
enjoy every minute of (my) life.
The Last Judgment
What is your life?
You are a mist that
appears for a little
while and then
vanishes.
